THE COUCH — Do you love getting out and exploring the world, but you also love your couch? Then this video is for you.
Hasan Kaval is a paragliding pilot from Turkey. His Instagram and YouTube channels regularly showcase his travel habits and paragliding prowess. It’s all very impressive, but it’s not much different than any other adventurer’s social media … until July 2, 2020.
That’s the fateful day when Kaval posted a paragliding stunt that perfectly married an adventurous spirit with the pure, non-adrenaline rush of couch surfing.
The video opens on an ingenious, tiny living room contraption built on a steel frame. It has all the charms of a bachelor pad, including a weird puffy couch, a footrest, and a TV.
It seems insane because it is. But the true insanity doesn’t kick in until his friends push the couch off a cliff and Kaval miraculously takes flight. It is then that he becomes the "flying couch potato."
In a true Mister Rogers moment, Kaval changes into house slippers and gets comfy in his new home in the sky. Then out come the snacks, a remote, and some "Tom and Jerry" cartoons, making the bachelor pad image complete.
