THE SWIMMING POOL – If your job description involves cleaning swimming pools with a skimmer net, you probably encounter similar items on a regular basis. Dead bees? Check. Decaying leaves? Check. Old Band-Aids. Double check.
Thankfully, you probably don't have to chase debris very often. It just floats there until you're able to catch it in your net.
But, once in a blue moon, your net skills are truly put to the test by a giant lizard. I am speaking, of course, about the iguanas that have invaded parts of Florida. These prehistoric-looking critters hang out in trees and are a real nuisance to homeowners.
Here's what a pool cleaning looks like when iguanas are involved. Check out the video:
Not only can this iguana swim, but it looks like an Olympian contender. It's fast. It's agile. And it has no interest in going into a net that seems to be way too small for the job.
Maybe days like this are actually fun for a pool cleaner. You spend so much time dealing with soggy hornets that it could be an exciting challenge to pursue a lizard.
