I reached out to the toad's representatives to see if it was ever able to escape this whirlpool. Based on the strength of the current, it's likely that the toad is still rotating to this day.

Circular rainbows are most often seen from airplanes, thanks to the elevated perspective. A "sun halo" like this is rarer.
