PARIS β Utah is a haven for mountain bike enthusiasts, with its wide array of trails for adventure seekers and adrenaline junkies of all skill levels.
But what about some extreme urban biking?
That's what took place on Thursday, when French cyclist and social media sensation Aurelien Fontenoy became the fastest athlete to climb to the second floor of France's Eiffel Tower on an all-terrain bike.
While he didn't exactly pedal up the tower, Fontenoy's hop technique is an impressive display of strength, stamina and willpower, nevertheless.
The fact that his 686-step journey to reach the second-floor platform β the last accessible via stairs β took him only 12 minutes and 30 seconds makes me tired just thinking about it.
"It's really taxing on the shoulders, on the feet, too. I felt that on the second floor, it was starting to get tough because you can never pedal. In fact, you have the brakes locked all the time," Fontenoy told Reuters. "It only affects your calves, your shoulders. And pulling a bike 686 times starts to get tough after a while but I'm so happy to have done it."
What Utah structures β urban or otherwise β do you think could provide a similar challenge?
