CANADA — Life with a younger sibling can be tricky when you're a kid. For example, you'd be heading out on a beautiful summer day to play with your buddies, but your mom would yell, "Take your little brother with you! He wants to come!"
Or you might be getting ready to go trick-or-treating with your best friend, but then be forced to bring your little sister along. Not that there'd be anything wrong with her… but she would walk a lot slower and be dressed like Skye from Paw Patrol.
Well, this video suggests that bear cubs might have a similar experience with their younger siblings:
The footage was shot in Canada's Riding Mountain National Park. A mother black bear is seen crossing the road accompanied by one of her cubs. But then she sends the cub back in the direction they came from. This cub wasn't too jazzed about the idea and needed plenty of prodding from its mother.
"The little cub then dashed back to the opposite side of the road and moments later returned accompanying its smaller sibling who was too afraid to cross the highway alone," explains the video's caption. "Reunited, the mama bear and her babies continued on, into the safety of the trees. I live near this area and often see black bears, but this was the first time I had witnessed something as heartwarming and amazing as a little bear cub running back to help its smaller sibling who was afraid to cross the highway alone!"
Indeed, it's nice to have an older sibling looking out for you.
