THE FARM — Donkeys are not considered graceful animals.
First of all, they are stout and shaggy with coarse hair. Then add in a few generous cubes of pure stubbornness. And finally, of course, is the braying.
Oh boy, can donkeys make a sound that doesn’t seem to exist anywhere else in nature. No matter if they are happy (like this burro) or mad, or somewhere in between, they make noises that are part scream, part anguished crying, and part, well, pure donkey.
But then there is a donkey named Harriet.
Harriet lives in Ireland and likes to greet people who are passing by on the roadside. According to the video description, Harriet could never quite "hee haw" like other donkeys. You’d think that might mean she just wheezed or made some other off-but-still-doney-like sound.
I visited the beautiful Harriet today (Sunday 21st October) She could never hee haw like other donkeys but apparently she's now an opera singer!! 😂❤Posted by Martin Stanton on Sunday, October 21, 2018
Harriet brays like she’s a soprano starring in an opera. Her tone is strong and clear, and it even includes just the right amount of vibrato. She just needs to work on her breath control, and then Carnegie Hall will come a-calling.
I’m not sure if Harriet has an agent or not, but if you’re looking to get married this summer, Harriet may be just the vendor you need to make your wedding perfect.
This video was first posted on Facebook in October, but it is currently finding a second life. As it should.
