THE DEPTHS OF YOUR SOUL — We all have passions. Something that moves us, gets us out of the bed this morning, causes us to throw our inhibitions out the window and embrace the day with a life-threatening bear hug of intensity.
For me that passion lies with pizza. I think of pizza and I remember the innocence of being a child and rummaging through the sofa to find enough change to buy a medium cheese pie from Ambassador Pizza. I smell pizza and feel its warm caress and lethargy settling in my tummy. I see pizza and begin to understand what true beauty is. I taste pizza and I know what it means to love and be loved.
Ok, maybe I'm not that passionate about pizza, but the kid in this Twitter post is that passionate about the Nutcracker.
Hey Ashley, you didn’t come out last night. What did you end up doing?— Ashley Nicole Black (@ashleyn1cole) January 9, 2020
Me (at home):
This young fella got in front of the camera and showed off his love for the Christmas melody and did it with a flair and grace that I will never know. Turns out this little guy takes classes and he's really quite wonderful with his steps. But what I really love here is the intensity on his face.
The way he takes this very seriously and the fact it's clearly important to him. Listen, I'm not making fun of him. Not in the least. I really think it's beautiful that he can feel such passion and appreciation for something at such a young age. As I mentioned the closest I've come to that is my lifelong and very dangerous relationship with Italian meats on top of melted cheese and glutenous bread.
Keep dancing, my limber and small friend, and never let that intensity and passion fade. It's a special thing.
