THE ROOF — There is something inherently fancy-pants about a rooftop swimming pool. Truth be told the hotel could be super shady and only two-stories tall. But if you hear it has a rooftop pool, you start thinking, "place can't be that bad."
You get to swim around and cool off up in the air with the birds and the clouds, especially when the pool is on top of a swanky and tall hotel or condominium. While this all sounds pretty luxurious, this video has made me think twice about this whole rooftop swimming pool thing, because now I'll always be thinking, "I hope there's not an earthquake."
Michael Rivo posted this video to his Facebook page and identified the building as Anchor Skysuite Ongpin in Manila, The Philippines. Rivo took the video during a 6.1 magnitude earthquake and captured the penthouse swimming pool emptying from the top of the building and onto the streets below.
First off, I'd like to stay in that penthouse considering the pool is big enough to hold that much water. I also don't want to stay in it because I'd like to enjoy a dip in a giant private pool without the fear of being thrown over the edges of the building.
Check out the video and determine whether you really want to book that trip to the hotel with the fancy rooftop pool.
