SARATOGA SPRINGS — Police say a 9-year-old child was seriously injured Thursday when he was hit by a vehicle after he ran into the road.

Saratoga Springs police said just after 4 p.m., the child ran into the road and was hit by a vehicle near Western Drive and Ruger Drive.

The child was transported to the hospital by medical helicopter and was being treated for broken bones and fractures Thursday night.

Police said the driver was cooperative with the investigation.
