CANADA — "You can come chill at my place."
Usually when someone says that, you imagine a relaxing and informal visit. Maybe you'll watch some TV. Maybe you'll just hang out on the couch and chat. But, at this house in Ontario, you will literally chill.
Not only is it surprising to see a house encased in ice — that closely resembles a root beer float — but it's downright bizarre to also see the shoreline covered with ice formations. The whole scene looks like something from the ice planet Hoth.
Don't even bother getting your snowblower out of the garage, because the only thing that's going to make a dent in this icy debacle is a week's worth of direct sunlight.
"Video was taken at 10 a.m. on Dec. 29," explains the video caption. "The ice encasing my home resulted from the lake wave surges and flash freeze on Christmas Eve."
What have we learned from this recent epic freeze? First of all, don't mess with nature. Second, don't live near the shores of Lake Erie, if you can help it.
