The Utah Highway Patrol is urging drivers to "watch your speed, buckle up, avoid distractions and be safe" after five crashes resulted in six fatalities on Utah highways this weekend.

2. 2-year-old boy drowns in Pleasant Grove home pool on Saturday

A 2-year-old boy drowned Saturday in an above-ground home pool in Pleasant Grove in a "tragic accident," police said.

3. Boy dies from burns after playing with matches, Salt Lake City officials say

A boy died from burns he received while he and a friend melted a fence playing with matches in Salt Lake City on Saturday night, officials said.

4. Utah Black Lives Matter president Lex Scott steps down after moving to another state

Utah Black Lives Matter and Utah Black History Museum president Lex Scott announced Sunday that she has stepped down and has moved to another state.

5. 3 men hospitalized in separate land speed crashes at Bonneville Salt Flats

Three men were taken to University Hospital by air ambulance on Sunday after separate incidents where they lost control of their land speed vehicles at Bonneville Salt Flats, racing officials said on Facebook.

1. Bobby Bowden, who led Florida State football dynasty, dies at 91

Bobby Bowden, the folksy Hall of Fame coach who built Florida State into a college football dynasty that powered its way to a dozen conference titles and two national championships, died early Sunday. He was 91.

Bobby's son, Terry, confirmed to The Associated Press that his father died at home in Tallahassee, Florida, surrounded by family.

2. 2 years after heartbreak, Wyoming's Joshua Creel makes amends at Utah Championship

With mom by his side and a breakfast at the local Cracker Barrel each of the past two days, Creel shot a glistening 7-under-par 64 to finish with a four-day total of 24-under 260 Sunday to win his first championship on the Korn Ferry Tour with the 30th edition of the Utah Championship at Oakridge Country Club.

3. Portland staves off late Real Salt Lake rally for wild 3-2 win

Dairon Asprilla had a goal and an assist, and Portland Timbers FC played to a wild 3-2 win Saturday night over Real Salt Lake at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.

4. US rolls to women's hoops gold medal in Bird's last Olympics

"All of what we've done for USA Basketball, we've done together. It's fitting," Bird said after the 90-75 win over Japan on Sunday.

5. Tokyo douses Olympic flame closing pandemic Games

Tokyo doused its Olympic flame on Sunday in a ceremony that echoed the restraint of a Games held without spectators and transformed by the global pandemic, dazzling sport and deeply person turmoil.
