ROHAN — Not all heroes (or Riders) wear capes.
Some heroes do the quiet, brave work of mashing cultural phenomenons together to create top-notch (and often silly) entertainment for all the internet to see.
Our hero today is YouTube user Crichard, who took a scene from “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” and sound from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” to create a masterpiece.
The sound from Monty Python is from the famous scene involving The Knights Who Say “Ni!” In order to let people pass through their forest, they give them a quest. The sound is laid over some carefully edited footage from the scene in “The Two Towers” where the Riders of Rohan threateningly surround Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas as intruders on their land.
As you may have guessed, the video shows Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas getting a new quest. Instead of mustering the Riders of Rohan to join an epic battle to save the world, the trio must now find... a shrubbery! One that is nice, and not too expensive (admit it, you heard the dramatic music when you read “a shrubbery!”).
While this new quest is fairly low stakes with decidedly less drama, the hilarity more than makes up for the loss of world-changing action.
Hopefully, Crichard has planned to give the "Lord of the Rings" gang a new quest, this time from the Knights Who Say "Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing!"
