THE McCALLISTER HOUSE — Kevin McCallister is all grown-up, but he's still home alone.

In a new ad for Google, actor Macaulay Culkin reprised his role as the McCallister family's favorite kid to leave behind. The video — which was posted to YouTube Wednesday morning and already has nearly 9 million views — is a delightful trip down memory lane, both for fans of the classic Christmas film and for Culkin.

In the video, adult Kevin wakes up and with the help of the Google Assistant, discovers he has the house to himself. Because little has changed for him in the last 28 years (seriously, how does Culkin look almost exactly the same?), he takes that as a sign to let the high jinks kickoff.

And though at heart, Kevin is still that lovable kid who just wants to eat an entire Little Nero's cheese pizza by himself, his life is a little more high-tech in 2018. When the wet bandits pull up outside, all Kevin has to do is ask Google to "begin Operation Kevin" and all of the sudden, it looks like he's hosting the world's best holiday party.

Obviously, this is an ad, and the message is "make Google do it," but the message I got was that I need to immediately watch "Home Alone" because that movie is amazing. And if you're wondering how Google was able to put together such a detailed remake, they also posted a behind-the-scenes video where you can see a few side-by-side shots of the original film to compare just how accurate they were.
