THE PARK — Need an extra player for your Fourth of July volleyball game? Maybe a deer will join your team.
That's what happened to this group of friends who were enjoying a weekend volleyball game in Virginia. Apparently, they needed a replacement for one of their players, and the deer showed up just in time to sub in.
But, unfortunately, the deer did not exactly have a natural talent for volleyball. As Steve Keighton, who posted the video, put it: "Thought we finally found a replacement on the volleyball team for Jamie Murrow, but alas, this young buck apparently had been watching too much of the World Cup and had another sport in mind. Impressive talent nonetheless."
I mean, I get it. World Cup fever affects even the best of us.
But even though this friendly little deer wasn't an expert volleyball player and would've rather been playing soccer, he ran around the court, jumping and pushing the ball and really trying his hardest. Way to give it your all, deer.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
The video is adorable and amazing, and I hope you enjoy it. And on second thought, maybe don't consider letting a deer join your volleyball team. Or, if you do, be prepared to lose the game. At least you'll win a lot of smiles in the process.
