ROCK CITY — When a parent goes out of town, it’s the ideal time for the significant other to be the “cool” parent, throwing some structure and many rules out the window.
Bedtimes? Never heard of them. Baths? Who needs them. Dinner? I decree every night is pizza night!
I don’t know if this father and son declared every night pizza night, but they sure weren’t using their kitchen to cook junior a nutritious meal while mama was away. Instead they used the kitchen to make a perfect 15-second song cover of “Freaks” by Timmy Trumpet.
The duo is bedecked in sunglasses — proving they are serious about their rock and roll street cred. Dad opens the jam session on a trombone and plays the rigorous melody. Junior fills out the song with a jamming percussion consisting of a serious headbang while repeatedly slamming the oven door shut. It’s surprisingly delightful.
There’s no telling if mom was displeased with the oven abuse, but there’s also no arguing that father and son had a great time producing a charming and hilarious video for our Internet pleasure.
