THE OLYMPICS — The 2014 Winter Olympics are on the downhill side, but there is still a lot more action to enjoy.
As we watch the games, we marvel at the discipline and intensity of the athletes and often wonder to ourselves, “What would it be like to experience that?”
Well, we still don’t know exactly what it’s like to fly down an ice track at 80 mph on a sled, but doubles luger Matt Mortensen has given us a small taste of what it’s like.
Mortensen posted this POV video of him heading down the luge track in Sochi, and I don’t know about you, but to me it looks like the most terrifyingly fun thing ever.
Mortensen wrote in the description of the video, “A minute in my life.”
While the “minute” was exhilarating, I can’t imagine the hard work, sacrifice and long days it took for Mortensen to get to that minute.
Congratulations to Mortensen and all the other athletes in this year’s games and thanks to him for the video.
