MIAMI — Have you ever wanted to live in a mansion in Miami? Have you always wanted to hang out in Al Capone’s house? Do you have nearly $9 million on hand? Then have we got the perfect place for you.
Al Capone was one of the most notorious criminals of all time, and the former bootlegger’s Miami Beach Mansion is up for sale for a reasonable $8.9 million, according to Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
The home sits on a 30,000-square-foot lot and features seven bedrooms, five bathrooms and an oversize pool.
The 10,000-square-foot house is on Palm Island, which sits between Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami.
Capone bought the home in 1928 for $40,000, which was a lot of money, but not $8 million. With inflation that sum would be worth about $540,000 in 2014's dollars. So, according to today’s real estate, Capone got a steal of a deal on that house.

If you want to buy the house, your income needs to be pretty solid. According to a mortgage calculator, a 20 percent down payment, to avoid mortgage insurance, would be nearly $1.8 million and your monthly payments would still be $35,026.
I’d love to hang out in that pool, but despite what you may think they don’t pay me quite that much to write Have You Seen This. Almost, but not quite.
