NORTH OGDEN -- A North Ogden man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death appeared in court Tuesday.

Johnny Maurice Bell, 21, entered not guilty pleas to charges of murder and domestic violence in the presence of a child last month.

Prosecutors say they are now working on details of a plea bargain.

Bell was arrested on Jan. 4 in connection with the death of 23-year-old Brittany Nichols. Police say Bell stabbed her to death after she ended their 4-month relationship.
