THE NEIGHBORHOOD – Question: What do you call the handheld power tool with a rotating head used for cutting grass, weeds and light brush?
I grew up calling them "weed eaters." But I've also heard them referred to as "weed whackers," "weed trimmers," "string trimmers," "line trimmers," "strimmers" and "whipper snippers."
I realize there are sometimes variations in form and function with these various products, which helps explain the different names. But for the most part, the names seem to be geographically influenced. So your uncle in Canada might call it a "whipper snipper," while your aunt in Florida refers to it as a "weed eater."
Whatever you call them, you probably know that these tools can sometimes throw rocks due to their rapidly spinning heads. And in this video, the rock does some serious damage:
Wow. Notice how the guy's reaction isn't to go and tell the homeowner what happened. Instead, he looks around to make sure he wasn't seen. And then, as glass shards continue to slowly rain down from the broken door, he casually goes back to work.
Too bad he didn't know there was a security camera watching. Looks like this fellow won't be getting paid for his yard work.
Have You Seen This?
