THE MOTORCYCLE SHOP — Idioms are the spice of life. Originating from everyday situations and events, these hardy little phrases stand the test of time. Decades, even centuries, later, we still don't know where they came from. But we understand the underlying message.
Does "break the ice" originally come from ice-fishing traditions in Norway or from maritime protocols in Russia? Doesn't matter because we now know that it means to get the conversation going at a party.
Did "show your true colors" come from the traditions of Japanese painters or how winners were crowned in ancient Greece? Beats me. But we all know that it now refers to someone's real character being revealed.
Have you ever heard of "a bull in a motorcycle shop"? Me neither, until I saw this video.
Yikes! That has to be a nightmare for any shop owner. While motorcycles aren't the most fragile things in the world, they definitely aren't made to withstand cow hooves. I guess it's a good thing the shop owner wasn't selling glassware or anything like that.
Apparently, this cow got lost in the Vietnamese city of Pleiku. Scared by the sounds of traffic, it leaped into this motorcycle shop. Fortunately, the cow escaped unharmed and the motorcycles all seem to have evaded any serious damage.
