A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY — Who hasn't watched "Star Wars" and left wishing they could zoom around on an X-wing fighter or pod racer?

Well, with an e-bike, $40 in cash and a bit of ingenuity, that experience — or something close to it — could be yours.

That's all it took for one fan to transform his son's e-bike into a speeder like the ones ridden by Luke Skywalker and the rebels in "The Return of the Jedi." Complete with a reflective covering to hide the wheels, the bike appears to hover as his son, dressed in homemade Jedi robes, flies over the sidewalk.

"After sewing homemade Jedi outfits for my son and me for Comic-Con, I decided to try and turn his e-bike into a Star Wars speeder bike as well," the dad said. "I was able to craft it with cardboard, duct tape and paint, plus a few other details, for less than $40. It came out even better than I imagined, and all the neighborhood kids thought it was super cool."

It appears no stormtroopers or droids were harmed during the making of the video.

It's easy to see, however, how the bike could quickly become the envy of all the neighborhood kids; and with Christmas just around the corner, this dad could make a living customizing similar bikes for other young fans.

If that falls through, maybe he's earned himself a role designing costumes for the next franchise film or a future season of "The Mandalorian."
