THE SHORE — If I were to tell you that a large bald eagle decided to attack a small crab, you'd probably assume that the eagle quickly dispatched the crustacean and enjoyed a delicious meal.
But as this surprising video shows, you'd be wrong.
{#embed} I don't blame the eagle for going after the crab. They're such awkward-looking creatures and it's easy to think that they'd just sort of stumble their way into your belly if you happen to be hungry.
But — news flash — crabs have claws.
And this video serves as a potent reminder of the old saying: "It's not the size of the crab in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the crab." Judging by the performance of this particular crab, I'd say its "fight" is huge.
As a final note, I love how the bald eagle recovered from its embarrassing plummet into the water. It may have gotten walloped by a crab, but after looking around to make sure nobody noticed, the eagle regally resumed its place on the rock as though it was the most triumphant creature on earth.
