THE POWER PLANT — Electricity and I have always had a complicated relationship.

I mean, I depend on it every day. I wouldn't be writing this right now if it weren't for that fickle friend. But it also forces me to rely on it so heavily that when I lost it for five days last summer I figured my life was over. I found out there are never enough batteries for flashlights.

There are also times when electricity is supplying me with all the power it needs and then some, like the incident when I stuck my hand into a fuse box. No, it wasn't smart, but I was curious. All I remember is a frantic scream which I think came from me and then my friend picking me up off the floor with the slight smell of burning hanging in the air.

What I'm getting at is electricity is wonderful, but it can also be pretty scary and that's on full display in this video.

Chris Fitzsimmons caught this video in Kenner, Louisiana. You can see a ball of electricity traveling across power lines in what looks more like a scene out of a fantasy television show with wizards and witches than a plumbing repair service in the Lone Star State. A lot of people tried to explain what was happening here on Twitter. There were several explanations, but it sounds like something may have come in contact with the wire creating an arc that was traveling away from the power source.

Say all the science stuff you want, but I'm still not convinced there isn't some dark magic afoot here. We found out aliens are real, that a sick bird can create a pandemic and that murder hornets are a thing. So, why not just admit that magic is real and we can move on with our Wednesday?

Correction: This incident took place in Kenner, Louisiana — not Texas.
