THE PORCH — Package delivery is one of the busiest jobs during the holidays.
Drivers work long hours in all sorts of weather to make sure our gifts and holiday cheer get to us in time for Christmas. Basically, they can make your break Christmas morning in your house.
In respect and care for delivery drivers, many people now make it a custom to leave out snacks and beverages for these workers, helping them stay fed and hydrated on their busy routes. The internet is also full of videos have captured these drivers’ surprise and smiles, but one man’s response in Middletown, Deleware, has taken a viral turn, and for good reason.
In this video, a Ring doorbell catches an Amazon delivery driver in full happy mode. When he sees the snacks, his surprise ("This is so nice!") is certainly enough to make you smile. But it’s his final reaction that makes this video stand out from the others.
In his pure happiness, the driver does a little happy dance, reflecting a true moment of pure joy.
Yes, the video is cheery and entertaining, but it’s also a perfect reminder that it’s the small, thoughtful gifts and the simple acts of kindness that can mean the most.
This video was posted by Kathy Ouma on Facebook earlier this month, and has since garnered 11 million views and Facebook alone.
