TRAFFIC — Traffic jams are alternate realities that exist solely to give humanity a glimpse of the underworld, and secondarily to be absurd.

There’s the endless stop-and-start that seems tailored to increase frustration, the anxiety of trying to merge lanes in a sea of bumper-to-bumper metal death traps, and the symphony of angry honking.

Once, I even saw someone pull out a megaphone to properly yell at the car in front of them after being cut off. Tensions run high behind the wheel, and everybody’s gotta blow off steam somehow.

That craziness is without even mentioning construction, accidents and that one time this guy played the trumpet on the freeway in Lehi (fun fact: that’s also not illegal for some reason).

So traffic is generally all-around awful, but it gives us a few gems. This video shows another such gem, and it’ll be the cutest thing you'll see today:

Sometimes, two dogs just have to meet — and the perfect red light gives them the opportunity.

Look at their size difference! And their gentle nose boops and licks! Even the owner looks like he’s found a new friend for life, and the person filming can’t resist a few “awhs!” Coincidentally, neither can I.

So yes, while traffic jams are generally strange and hellish, sometimes they also provide opportunities for the cutest thing ever.
