THE DRIVE-THRU — We’ve all seen drive-thru pranks before, but you haven’t seen one like this.

In the late 2000s, these pranks were the internet’s viral darling, with folk songs sung at the speaker and Elmo ordering for his friends. Everyone from ghosts to robots and celebrity look-alikes seemed to be cashing in on the trend.

But the years passed, and so did the majority of the internet’s obsession with insane drive-thru shenanigans. Fast-food workers across the planet breathed a collective sigh of relief and returned gratefully to their uninterrupted shifts. Peace and normalcy reigned in the land of Big Gulps and supersized fries.

On occasion, however, this forgotten prank will rear its head with a new and worthy twist, turning heads across the interwebs.

Take this video, for example, where the pranksters purchased a piano, placed it in the back of their pickup truck, and proceeded to the nearest Taco Bell. Serenading the speaker while ordering your iced beverages might not be orthodox, but it should be.

Not only does this guy play through the ordering process, but he also graces the establishment’s employees with his talents at the pickup window. Of course, that says nothing about his casual melody to the camera at the end.

In a moment where the internet seems to no longer prefer the relatable, average Joe joking it used to, this video is a refreshing reminder that fast-food pranks are not dead. They live on in our hearts and our humor.

There may come a day where tired fast-food employees will no longer have to choose to endure or be amused by their customers’ indulgence in such shenanigans … but today is not that day.
