CORINNE, Box Elder — The circumstances surrounding the death of Marcus Elkins, who was last seen alive on Wednesday night, have been determined by Box Elder County sheriff detectives.

A caller reported finding a body in Bill Flack Park in Corinne on Thursday morning around 7:50 a.m., according to a press release by the Box Elder County sheriff. Police found the body of deceased Marcus Elkins, a 16 year-old from the area with no signs of external injuries upon discovery.

New information revealed that sometime during the evening, Elkins met up with three other juveniles, according to police. The individuals consumed alcohol and at some point during their movement around Corinne’s two parks, Elkins collapsed.

The three juveniles then moved Elkins to Bill Flack Park after his death, according to the press release. Detectives successfully determined that he did not die in the location he was found.

Elkins was seen alive as late as 10 p.m. Wednesday night in the area of the park, police said. No signs of external injury existed. The Utah State Medical Examiner’s office will further investigate as to the cause of his death.

The three juveniles have been identified as persons of interest, but no arrests have been made and the investigation has been turned over to the Box Elder County attorney, police said.
