CORINNE, Box Elder County — Authorities recovered a body at a Box Elder County park Thursday morning in a situation that is being called “suspicious.”
The body of Marcus Elkins, 16, was recovered at Bill Flack Park in Corinne about 7:50 a.m. after a caller reported the body to police, according to Box Elder County Chief Deputy Dale Ward.
An investigation revealed Elkins didn’t die at the park, located near 2450 N. 4050 West, but rather his remains were brought to the park sometime after his death, police said.
There are multiple persons of interest, all juveniles, who may have knowledge about Elkins death, police said.
The teen’s cause of death wasn’t known Thursday afternoon and police said his body will be sent to Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine these details.
Salt Lake police said in a Tweet that they were aware of the death, but had confirmed with the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office that it is unrelated to the investigation into missing woman Mackenzie Lueck.
