AUSTRALIA, OF COURSE — Has there ever been something you've wanted to do so badly in your life, but no matter how hard you tried you just couldn't figure it out?
Maybe Rubik's Cube has always been just out of your reach, or maybe executing a backflip was too much to ask your body. I've been there more times than I'd like to admit. That's why I relate to this video so much.
A kangaroo wandered into a yard in Houghton, South Australia, near Adelaide, and saw something that looked like a good bit of a fun: a swing. The kangaroo tests it out a bit and then decides it's time for a ride. Maybe this marsupial has hung around this house before and it saw the kids enjoy a summer swing and living adolescence to its fullest. Or maybe it saw one of the adults take a ride and watched the smile creep across their faces and immediately take 20 years off their appearance. Or maybe it was just curious what on earth this contraption was.
Whatever the animal's reasoning, it wanted to take the swing for a spin.
But turns out when you don't have opposable thumbs or an IQ that actually registers on the scale, getting on a swing can pose a challenge. OK, all you animal geniuses out there, I have no idea what the IQ of a kangaroo is and I didn't mean to offend, but regardless, this little guy couldn't quite figure it out.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
Eventually, it seemed the swing started to fight back and the kangaroo had enough and took off. It's understandable. I'd be frustrated too. I mean, I can't play the piano, but it wasn't for a lack of trying. Even if your dreams of riding the swing have been dashed, we appreciate the fun video, kangaroo.
