CUMBERLAND, Ohio — Are you ready to have your heart melted by adorableness?

OK, let me introduce you to the cutest baby giraffe you've ever seen. The giraffe calf was born Tuesday at The Wilds conservation center in Ohio, and in this video, you can see him attempt to take his first steps.

According to the video description, this giraffe calf is healthy and strong, and his birth is particularly exciting because giraffes are listed as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species.

“Welcoming a giraffe calf to our herd is always an incredibly exciting time for our team,” The Wilds Vice President Dr. Jan Ramer said in a statement. “Not only is this birth a milestone here at The Wilds, but it also gives us great hope and a foothold to sustain declining populations of this species in their native ranges.”

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

In the video, the giraffe calf attempts to stand up over and again, with the support of mom and dad who are watching over him. But because standing up is hard when you're only a few hours old, he falls down a lot too. By the end of the video, the little guy manages to stay on his feet and even takes some joyous first steps. It's wonderful, and I cheered for him.

This video is so cute that if your heart hasn't fully melted at this point, I don't know what to tell you. This is my favorite video. Please disregard all the times I've said that in the past. I only love this video and this baby giraffe now, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
