EMERALD ISLE — On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone feels a little bit Irish. Now, with the help of a campaign by General Mills’ popular cereal Lucky Charms, you can have a little more luck in your life.
With their #AdoptALeprechaun initiative, you too can have a magical Irish friend all your own. In a video put out by the marshmallowy cereal, they demonstrated all the benefits of such a companion, namely some jigging, skipping, and sharing giant green sweaters.

The video was actually produced for a real St. Paddy’s Day giveaway. All you have to do is tweet #AdoptALeprechaun to the @LuckyCharms account to be given your very own ginger cohort that you can interact with throughout the holiday. Possible green-clad chums include Kyle, Gary, Doug, Abe and Zoe.

From the instructional website www.adoptaleprechaun.org, (probably real) testimonials have been raving about the experience.
“I knew something was missing in my life,” wrote Glenn from Denver. “I didn’t know it was a leprechaun.”
Pleased user Kristinia from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, seems similarly satisfied, albeit more succinct. She wrote, “Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!”
“If you’re wondering what’s at the end of the rainbow, I can tell you. It’s a best friend,” penned Casey of Akron.
So tweet @LuckyCharms and get your very own leprechaun and have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
