OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Smoking in publicly owned places in Weber and Morgan counties could soon be illegal.

The proposed ban would include sidewalks, roads, golf courses, universities and campsites. The Weber-Morgan Board of Health is considering asking for the ban.

A draft of the ordinance calls for a smoking ban at "any outdoor gathering place owned by any state, county or city government that is open to the general public."
