SALT LAKE CITY (KSL News Services) -- You've heard of fire drills and earthquake drills at school but Draper’s Juan Diego High School staged an intruder alert drill. The police and fire departments simulated an armed intruder forcing his way into the school, injuring two students, then hiding inside the school with a bomb.
Juan Diego's Molly Dumas says it's rare for schools to practice for such scenarios but she says more children are hurt by intruders in schools than they are by fires. The school practiced lock-down procedures followed by an evacuation.
