Herbert nominates Roth, Low for judicial posts

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has nominated Third District Judge Stephen Roth to serve on the Utah Court of Appeals and Wasatch County Attorney Thomas Low to serve as a judge in Fourth District Court.

Roth was appointed to the Third District Court in 2002 by former Gov. Mike Leavitt.

Low has served as the Wasatch County Attorney since 2003. He has also served as a Deputy Wasatch County Attorney, where he prosecuted felony cases, and as an attorney in private practice in Provo.

Herberts nominees must be confirmed by the state Senate.
