HOLLADAY -- A group of volunteers tried to help members of their community Monday night with a project called "Good in the Hood." They gathered sacks of donated items they hope will help hundreds of Salt Lake refugee families.
But the volunteers serve by doing more than delivering supplies.
"We don't just serve and take off. We serve, and we want to stick around and be friends with them and get to know the families that we are helping," said volunteer Michelle McPhee.
The young people are collecting clothing, hygiene items and school supplies. If you would like to help, contact project director T.R. Tyler at 801-529-8501 or by e-mail at teetyler@gmail.com.
