SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Provo Mayor Lewis Billings biked more than 50 miles from Salt Lake City to Provo on Saturday.
The mayors have an annual bet on the BYU-Utah football game. Whoever loses has to ride their bike to the winning team's hometown. Even though Becker lost this year's bet, the mayors made the journey together, just as Becker joined Billings last year.
They biked from the University of Utah Alumni House to Provo, where Mayor Becker delivered a donation to the Community Action Services and Food Bank.
The rivalry ride coincides with the rivalry food drive fight which ended last week.
Representatives from both the Salt Lake City and Provo food banks say the rivalry has produced tremendous results.
