SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- When Utah lawmakers head back to Capitol Hill this morning, they will discuss a bill that would make accessing pornography on school grounds a crime.
Under House Bill 100, viewing porn on school computers would be a class B misdemeanor. School officials could also suspend or expel students who were caught.
The bill's sponsor says there's currently no law against looking at porn on school property --- only school policies.
School officials say the Salt Lake City School District currently has filters that block out pornography sites, blogging sites and chat rooms.
A class B misdemeanor can include penalties of up to six months in jail, and fines.
