MURRAY -- A man and child were injured when a roof under construction at their home collapsed.
The Deseret News reports a family was building an addition to their home near 4700 South and 225 East in Murray Saturday afternoon. Firefighters say those working had put up trusses and placed 25 to 30 sheets of plywood on top of the roof, but had failed to properly brace the trusses.
The weight shifted, causing the roof to collapse while the family of six was sitting underneath it taking a lunch break.
A middle-aged man and young boy were taken to the hospital -- the man with smashed toes and the boy with an ankle injury.
