SALT LAKE COUNTY -- The two burglars crashed into a warehouse at 254 W. Central Ave.
"These people are obviously familiar with what may be inside this warehouse," said Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson.
Surveillance video shows a stolen van crashing through the warehouse, a man sliding the van door open and then grabbing boxes of items. The video also shows the second thief, who has a shaved or bald head.
The first break-in happened on July 16 at 2 a.m. Then two days later at 5 a.m., the burglars hit again.
The warehouse parked a forklift in front of the warehouse door to prevent another burglary, but that didn't stop the thieves. They smashed through the door with another stolen car and grabbed as much as they could before driving away.
This time the men covered their faces, but authorities believe they are the same people who committed the first burglary.
The men broke in to Avad, a business that stores home theater and stereo equipment.
Investigators say the thieves got away with thousands of dollars worth of high-end electronics, including big screen plasma and LCD TVs, and blue ray players.
They clearly are desperate to get in. They're not letting anything stop them, be it a forklift in the front door or any sort of locked doors. They're just utilizing stolen vehicles to crash through in order to gain access to where the merchandise is," Hutson said.
