SUMMIT COUNTY -- A crash on Interstate 80 in Parley's Canyon sent a state trooper to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the trooper was helping the driver of a tow truck load up a camper on the shoulder of the freeway near mile marker 145 around 2:30 p.m.

That's when another car unexpectedly swerved onto the shoulder and hit the camper. Emergency crews took the trooper to the hospital, where he was treated for a hand injury.

The drivers of both the car and the tow truck were only slightly hurt and didn't go to the hospital
