OGDEN -- Police in Ogden have arrested a man accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.
Detectives say they were contacted by the alleged victim's mother about 30-year-old Joseph Andrew Vigil, who was accused of carrying on a relationship with the girl.
"They had a protective order restricting Vigil from being around the female," Ogden police Lt. Scott Conley told KSL Newsradio on Thursday. "He continued to see her."
On Tuesday, the Weber County Attorney's Office filed four counts of rape of a child, a first-degree felony, against Vigil. He was also charged with a class A misdemeanor of violating a protective order, according to records in Ogden's 2nd District Court.
Late Wednesday, Ogden police booked Vigil into the Weber County Jail on a $100,000 warrant. He is scheduled to make his first appearance to the charges in 2nd District Court on Friday.
