WEST VALLEY CITY -- A car hit a 13-year-old West Valley girl Tuesday afternoon. It happened on 5600 West near 4400 South.
Police say the girl was crossing the busy street, but not in a crosswalk. One car slowed down, but the driver of an another car didn't see the child and struck her.
The girl suffered serious injuries but was talking and alert.
Police didn't cite the driver because neither speed, drugs nor alcohol were factors, and the driver had no chance to stop for the girl.
