(KSL News) A woman and her neighbor tried to extinguish a small fire inside the utility room of her home near 10900 S. Conestoga Drive in Spanish Fork today.

When they thought it was under control, she told him to leave, saying fire crews were on their way.

But a neighbor, Isaac Oliver, described the scene 15 minutes later. "Smoke was just blowing out of both ends of the house. The firefighters were running all around the house, busting out windows, running water into the basement and trying to get the fire out. You could see it was up in the attic. Smoke was just coming out of everywhere," he said.

Firefighters had a tough time with the blaze, mostly because snow blocked them from getting inside the home.

They were able to put out the fire, but not before it gutted the inside of the house.

No one was injured. No word on what caused the fire.
