WAIALUA, Hawaii — People who travel to Hawaii are usually willing to put down some big bucks, including for a wild array of recreational activities.
One of the most popular activities for tourists is helicopter tours, but all of that is getting shoved over for gyrocopter tours.
A gyrocopter is similar to a helicopter but relies on a propeller to move forward, not a motorized rotor. Because it is known for landing in tight places and can survive very strong winds, it's known as one of the safest vehicles out there.
That is if you don't drop your wallet or phone out of the thing.
On the North Shore of Oahu, near the historic Dillingham Airfield in Mokuleia, sits Skyland Air, a local gyrocopter tour company run by Jay Eisenberg.
YouTube travel vlogger Jackson Groves recently took a trip with Eisenberg above the North Shore, and the views were pretty spectacular.
I would say it's well worth the $249 you have to shell out to fly with Eisenberg, plus the $50 you can add on if you want a video of your experience.
