ST. GEORGE — A recent crash in the roundabout at the Interstate 15 exchange on southbound Brigham Road did more than clog traffic in the Bloomington area: It also prompted St. George News to explain the mystery of these circular intersections.
The crash occurred Friday at about noon, involving a semitractor-trailer and a red passenger car.
St. George police officer Tiffany Mitchell told St. George News the collision was set in motion when the driver of the passenger car attempted to merge into the roundabout. Instead of yielding for the semi, the driver of the car reportedly pulled in front of the truck as it was moving through the roundabout, causing the vehicles to collide.
While no injuries were reported, it took about half an hour to clear the semi from the roundabout, clogging traffic in both directions during busy lunch-hour traffic.
