PARADISE — Like many states, Hawaii is experiencing drought conditions. In some cases, the effects are severe. For example, crops suffer, drinking water diminishes, wildlife suffers and wildfire risk increases.

But Hawaii is an incredibly resilient place. And this video captures the awesome scene as a drought-impacted waterfall is brought back to life by much-needed rainfall.

At the beginning of the video, only a stagnant pool remains where the Waimea Valley waterfall once roared. But the locals have timed their visit perfectly, and a small ribbon of water soon appears. The intensity quickly grows until a substantial waterfall is once again cascading down the rocks.

"I work at Waimea Valley," explains the caption. "The waterfall was dry for about two months due to lack of rain. The 30-foot-deep waterfall dried. After a heavy rain week, the waterfall finally had its revival."

It truly is amazing to watch nature in action.
