MOAB — A 61-year-old Moab man was killed Tuesday morning when his car was hit by a semitruck.
The crash happened at 5:18 a.m. on U.S. 191 in Moab. Police say an SUV pulled out of a hotel parking lot onto U.S. 191 in front of a southbound semitruck and was T-boned, the impact pushing both vehicles into the northbound lanes.
Police administered medical aid to the SUV driver on scene, and he was transported to a hospital where he later died. The man's identity was not released Tuesday, but police said he lives and works in Moab.
The semitruck driver was transported to the hospital with arm and leg pain.
The crash blocked all lanes of traffic, shutting down the road for about four hours while an investigation was conducted, police said.
