OFF THE SHORE — My favorite part of scuba diving is watching sea creatures in their natural habitat. Drift around a reef for 15 minutes and it's like you're observing the coming and going of thousands of residents in a thriving city. You'll see aggressive fish that pester those around them. You'll see timid creatures that only want to peek out of their homes when it comes time to eat.
The vibrancy of life is amazing. And the personalities you see on display are just as memorable.
Which is why this video made me smile.
First off, it really seems like this fish is in the mood to play. And then it sneaks under the sand. How is that even possible? If you were playing hide-and-seek with this fish, you'd never win.
Is the fish behind that seaweed? Nope. Is it behind that shell? Nope. Oh, it's under the sand? I totally should've thought to look there.
Anyhow, this video makes me want to dust off the scuba gear and go have another underwater adventure. The ocean is such a beautiful and inspiring place.
