IOWA — The world can sometimes feel like a grim place. You'll go check on the news and the first five headlines you see are all about accidents, crimes and war.
But it's important to remember that there are lots of good people in the world and they're doing lots of good things.
Sometimes these actions are collaborative examples of goodness, like when a community bands together to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfill a child's dreams. These individuals aren't looking for glory or money — they just want to bring a little happiness to someone else.
Other times, people save their best for when nobody else is watching. These silent helpers go around doing good every day but rarely ever make the news.
This video made my day because it shows strangers stepping in to lend a hand. Check it out:
Accidents are a part of life, so it's easy to just keep driving when you see one. But I love that people will put their own lives on hold to rescue an animal in need.
"Going home from work and saw traffic stopped with police car assisting," explains the video's caption. "Two good Samaritans stopped and jacked up the car to free a deer trapped underneath. Deer ended up walking away virtually unharmed!"
How about this? Next time you're feeling dejected about the state of the world, just search for videos of people rescuing animals and performing service for other human beings. There are millions of these videos out there, and they'll warm your heart every time.
