THE WHIRLPOOL — There are some days when it seems that nothing seems to go according to plan. You get knocked to the left, you get knocked to the right and you get knocked to the ground. It's like you're trapped in a washing machine on spin cycle, and the best you can do is just go along with it. Resistance is futile.
The toad in this video can probably relate. Take a look:
I don't have a lot of context for this video. From what I understand, this unfortunate amphibian lives in China. Somehow, it got caught in a whirlpool. And, as you can see, the current of the water took it for a nauseatingly fast spin.
Although I've never experienced anything quite like this, I once encountered a whirlpool on Electric Lake. We were canoeing along when we suddenly noticed a rotating section of the water. Caught in the current, our canoe slowly spun around until we were able to paddle through it.
I have reached out to the toad's representatives to see if it was ever able to escape this whirlpool. Based on the speed of the spin and the strength of the current, it's likely that the toad is still rotating to this day.
Have You Seen This?
